Bollywood is an
entertainment industry that has been growing around the world. As the industry
continues to grow the methods of marketing have changed over the years.
Currently, Bollywood has changed its marketing methods from the traditional
methods which are innovative and targeted to different groups. The biggest
marketing change that Bollywood is conducting is using social media platforms.
They use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
to promote movies, release teasers, and trailers, and connect with fans. By doing
so they can showcase a variety of people. This also allows for direct interaction
with the filmmakers and the audience which creates buzz for movies.
Not only social media but filmmakers now hold
promotional events, fan screenings, and interactive sessions with the cast and
crew which allows for excitement and publicity. Many actors also began doing
cross-promotions. Some collaboration methods are with brands, being in popular Indian
Tv shows, and having other actors from Bollywood, South Indian movie industry as
well. By doing this they can reach out to a variety of groups from North or
South India, and even other countries. These marketing concepts have allowed Bollywood
to grow and become a large entertainment industry.
